Abstract
The cradle out of which the home-base radio originated is the Russian naval forces. While radio as a system of sending sound messages over a certain distance was developing primarily as the commercial project, in Russia, radiotelegraphy was closely allied to the Navy. One of the key sources that provides the historical background of the home-base fleet is the journal ≪Nautical collected works≫. The present communication carries the survey of articles dealing with the historical records of radio engineering, which were published in the ≪Nautical collected works≫ dated 1885 through 1918.
