Abstract
Describes the design of an array antenna in which the main beam is tilted from the direction normal to the antenna plane. The array antenna is composed of dual-spiral slot (DSS) elements, and is realised using a foam-filled triplate configuration. Such an array antenna has potential for use in DBS television reception, since it can be easily installed on the wall of one´s house. After showing the performance of a single DSS element, the authors construct a 4×4 array antenna composed of the DSSs with a parallel feed network. The radiation characteristics of the array are examined and the formation of several tilted beams is demonstrated
