Abstract :
In OFDM transmission schemes, orthogonality of the sub-carriers is essential for correct demodulation. However, the non-constant group delay induced by RF cables, amplifiers, and mixers destroys the orthogonality of the sub-carriers and causes a large bit error rate (BER). In this paper, we focus on the effects of group delay on OFDM signals and then simulate the BER degradation, caused by different type of group delay (linear and parabolic), for OFDM signals using QPSK and 16QAM modulation.
