  • Abstract
Utilizing GPS, GIS and mobile network communication technology, and adopting componentization design idea, this paper proposes a novel solution of embedded navigation system based on GPS/GIS. This system mainly includes the following modules: PDA data enquiry and parsing, terminal communication service, map application service, geographic information collection, embedded navigation electronic map module. These modules are developed in different environments and platforms, but unified with each other in the respect of the overall function realization and geographic data sharing. The critical developing technologies such as Bluetooth connecting, Location-Based Services and A-star shortest path algorithm etc. are introduced in detail. At last, test results prove that the solution of embedded navigation system based on GPS/GIS is feasible and valid.
