Abstract :
New nano gold catalytic systems made up of nano gold particles supported on macroporous (rare earth metal -dysprosium oxide) and microporous silico-aluminophosphate of type 18 materials were synthesized. These nano materials were characterized using routine and sophisticated (XAS, ICP-MS, TGA, TEM, XRD and BET) instrumentation techniques (for studying different nano gold catalytic systems). Au L3 edge X-ray absorption spectroscopic measurements were carried out over a series of supported gold nanoparticles to understand the typical characteristics and structure of gold nanoparticles in these materials. The size of gold nanoparticles varied in the range of ~2 to 6 nm in these materials. These materials possess medium to high surface area between 50 to 480 m2/g. The XRD analysis of the samples indicated the high phase purity and crystallinity of the dysprosium oxide and SAPO-18 support materials.
