Abstract :
Summary form only given. We investigated the lasing characteristics of asymmetrically deformed liquid jet and could clearly identify persistent lasing modes with emission directionality for large deformation (/spl eta/ > 12%) beyond which the ray optics model does not allow any resonance modes. Our results can be explained by the scar, the wave natures of the unstable periodic orbits in chaotic ray dynamics.
