Optimum and suboptimum gain maximization techniques for anti-multipath adaptive antenna arrays

In this paper, two gain maximization techniques are considered to implement adaptive antenna arrays as multipath signal combiners. The first one (the optimum algorithm) is based on adjusting the weights of the signals exactly in accordance with a gain optimization algorithm. The second technique is a suboptimum one where the weights are quantized to three levels only, namely -1.0 and +1. The round-off weight levels are selected statistically for each multipath condition
