Abstract :
Virtual laboratories which can overcome some limitations of conventional hands-on experiments have been adopted as a complement or in substitution of laboratory sessions. This paper presents the design and implementation of virtual labs for optical communication engineering education intended. This work has been done from the commercial OptiSystemTM and OptiPerformerTM platform. The virtual labs provide the students a learning platform covering the fundamentals to system design. The survey results show that the virtual lab has great utility for optical communication engineering education.
