Abstract
This paper presents the implementation of a short term scheduling system developed in the scope of the Eureka Paradi-European research program-at Techspace Aero. We first introduce the context which pushes the industrial partner to decentralize the production management and to look for a short term scheduling system. The approach and the results are presented. We then deal with the integration aspects. The existing MRP-II system is in charge of the long- and medium-term planning which are complementary to the new short term scheduling system. We also highlight the main functions of the finite capacity scheduling tool as well as the constraints taken into account. We then give a demonstrative example to illustrate the dynamic group technology feature, allowing a substantial reduction of the machine setup procedure. We then conclude with the industrial impact of the new scheduling system
