Abstract
To aim at the power restriction of wireless sensor network and the demand for non-blind coverage area for networking monitoring and target tracking, a self-organizing network algorithm is proposed based on one-dimensional (1D) cellular automata (CA). All nodes run the rules to convert the status while CA rules are loaded into each sensor node without frequent communication with neighboring nodes, which minimizes the frequency of communication between the nodes, simultaneously optimizes the power consumption. The final results of the simulation verify the effectiveness and the performance of the algorithm.
