Abstract :
At present the application layer multicast is a hot issue, it does not need multicast routers, so its scalability is better than that of IP multicast. In recent years, researchers have proposed many application layer multicast protocols, where ALMI (Application Layer Multicast Infrastructure) protocol is a typical application layer multicast protocol. But the overlay network for application layer multicast protocols proposed by researchers are different, the simulation tools are also different, which makes comparison of research results very difficult. Using the NS2 of this widely used software platform, through the simulation of a typical application layer multicast protocol ALMI, it provides a new way for other application-layer multicast protocol simulation and comparison of research results.
