  • Abstract
    It is noted that a number of recent international developments have the potential of affecting export of US products to foreign markets. It has been suggested that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should participate with other US Government agencies in the process of developing, among other things, a mutual recognition agreement for conformity assessment. While the FCC´s primary mission is the promotion and protection of radio communications it is also interested in ensuring that its programs for controlling electromagnetic interference (EMI) promote international trade. The author provides a brief overview of some of these recent international developments and presents some of the issues facing industry and the agency
