  • Abstract
Wide bandwidth receivers are a common requirement in many military and commercial systems such as RADAR, electronic warfare (EW), communications and imaging sensors. The use of Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) techniques offers considerable advantages over discrete circuit functions such as increased functional integration, improved circuit performance, reduced assembly cost and batch circuit testing. MMIC circuits are presented for a range of applications including communications, EW and mm-wave imaging. Consideration of the method for MMIC circuit encapsulation/packaging is also discussed, and a novel organic packaging method is presented for communications and passive imaging applications.
