Abstract :
This paper points out the disadvantage of ATTS scheme in performance of the handoff voice call dropping probabilities and then proposes a novel Improved Adaptive Time-Threshold based bandwidth allocation Scheme (IATTS) for voice calls in cellular wireless networks. In order to decrease the prioritized handoff dropping probability, proposed scheme makes prioritized handoff calls have preemptive priority over non-prioritized handoff calls on basis of reserving adaptive algorithm of ATTS. Simulation results show that IATTS further improves QoS of handoff calls while keeping good performances of the new call blocking probability and the bandwidth utilization compared with ATTS. Hence, the proposed scheme provides good QoS guarantees for both mobile voice users and the service provider.
