Abstract :
The authors implement various optical interconnection functions using multilevel phase-only holograms written in a nematic liquid crystal panel capable of nearly continuous phase modulation. These include nearest/next nearest neighbor interconnects, space-invariant one to many interconnects (fan-out elements), and a perfect shuffle. Nearly diffraction-limited focal spots and ~15% total diffraction efficiencies are obtained
