Abstract :
Summary form only given. In earlier work at NIST, a number of lines of U and Th in the range of 575 to 692 nm and near 744 nm were measured and shown to be useful as reference lines at the level of a few parts in 10/sup 8/. We have recently extended the U and Th measurements into the range 694 to 755 nm, where I/sub 2/ lines are inaccessible. We report measurements of eight uranium and seven thorium lines in this range, each accurate to a few parts in 10/sup 8/, and compare our results to previously published values.
