Abstract
This paper presents a method of designing 2-D FIR fan filters for wideband beamforming with interference wave suppression used in mobile communication and also acoustic signal processing. Wideband beamforming network generally consists of sensor array, tapped-delay line (TDL) and adaptive fan filter coefficients to extract target wideband signal, however most of fan filters do not suppress interference waves at the same time. In this paper, we develop an optimum design method of 2-D FIR fan filters that enable both desired signal extraction and interference suppression by employing temporal-domain representation of the combined error function and its partial differentiations. Performance of the proposed method is evaluated through some computer simulation.
