Abstract :
Before the emergence of the concept e-science, applications and resources in research and scientific areas have existed as grid applications. In order to use the already existing applications and resources efficiently in e-science, an urgent problem to the "grid people" is how to integrate those heritage grid systems as the grid-based applications. There are many grid applications are well developed with the aid of grid technologies. However, they are almost fields dependent and have many gaps between these applications and grid resources. Neither the grid architecture nor the service oriented architecture is defined to solve the problem of the integration and sharing among various scientific field-specific resources, application, and even well developed grid applications. A grid orchestration gluer, an advanced service oriented architecture based on grid technology, is referred to stick the gap between applications and resources. This paper analyzes the advantages and subsistent problems of the grid technology currently, and demonstrates a way as the orchestration consisted of kernel, standard services, APIs and plug-ins to glue the gap of application and resource.
