Abstract :
Many utilities face similar challenges in efforts to mitigate avian electrocutions on overhead electrical equipment and are creating avian protection plans that address the issue. Plans must ensure compliance with various state and federal regulations and, at the same time, maintain the integrity of the electrical system. In this paper we will discuss how Arizona Public Service (APS) employs the efficacy and use of various approaches and techniques to minimize avian electrocutions.
