Title :
Energized Line Working with Polymer Insulators for Voltages 60kV and above
Abstract :
This paper deals with the installation, maintenance or replacement of polymer suspension and deadend insulators, grading devices, and hardware on energized circuits at 60 kV (phase-to-phase) and above. There are no existing guidelines to assist the utility or the worker with acceptable polymer insulator insulation integrity or overvoltage control during energized work. Mechanical strength, electrical withstand, overvoltage limiting methods, and laboratory and field testing of polymer insulators are addressed in this paper.
