Abstract :
Summary form only given. High efficiency waveguides can be formed in a photonic crystal for frequencies inside a band gap by removing a line of scatterers. The waveguide may be straight but may also have bends or corners. Here we consider the effect of disorder in the photonic crystal on the quality of the waveguide.
