Abstract :
This paper develops a portable MANET terminal. It provides a self-healing, robust, mobile network that supports voice, video communication, and other data applications. The terminal includes a system board based on PXA270 and a video compression board based on BF537, using 802.11 b/g external network card as wireless transmission equipment. This paper proposes a route protocol special for small scale MANET and deploys it on the terminal, and develops h.264 video transmit module and voice transmit module based RTP. A security communication protocol is also proposed which grounded on off-line digital certificate. In the end, this paper summarizes the capabilities of the terminal. It operates over multiple wireless hops at data rates of at least 256 Kbps.
