Abstract :
SCORM standard is the current international standard of the educational technique. A component model of open content object is proposed for the problem that one content component in SCORM standard is unable to get support by another component. This component mode can provide a flexible and efficient solution for the design of structure and sequence of the sharable Web learning content. Firstly, the component cells consisting of learning content is designed to be the open content object OCO with the functions of demanding services and rendering services; secondly, the content components can not only be combined to more advanced educational cell, but also form the interoperating connection relation through the message passing mechanism of the learning management system during learning; and lastly, a common operating environment is designed for the operation of the open content object OCO in different learning management system, through the extension of the SCORM standard operating environment of ADL.
