  • Abstract
This paper presents the architecture, network configuration, protocol, and design of a Wired “Follow Me” Telephony Service (WFMTS). WFMTS provides personalized mobile telephony services using only the wired network. It allows the users to have their calls follow them wherever they are as long as there is a telephone where they are. This is provided without having to use either the satellite network or the cellular telephony network. This is provided, due to the advanced technology used, without any significant increase in the network load (e.g., in terms of traffic or processing requirements). Nevertheless, the user´s calls can be directed to the users even when the users are out of town or even out of the country
