  • Abstract
Summary form only given. There has been much interest in the applications of Bessel beams due to their strongly peaked pump intensity distribution over relatively long distance in the media. An observation of self-reconstruction (SR) of an intense Bessel beam in different liquids was reported. Truncated in azimuth Bessel beam was reconstructed when its power reached a threshold value. The SR was preceded by stimulated light scattering along the beam axis. The phenomenon was explained in terms of longitudinally phasematched, inverse stimulated Rayleigh wing scattering. In this report we demonstrate that SR of Bessel beam is feasible in the medium with Kerr nonlinearity due to self-action of Bessel beam (degenerate four-wave mixing).
