  • Abstract
A pioneering prototype of antenna has been a slot antenna designed by Andrew Alford. That was the temporary array installed on the Chrysler Building for the CBS color television in 1946. This type of antenna can be used to develop marine Search and Rescue Radar Transponders and Radar Target Enhancers of the X-band navigation part. The basic antenna parameters are as follows: horizontal polarization, vertical plane beamwidth of±20°, omnidirectional in azimuth with an irregularity variation is ±1dB, gain variation in the frequency band of 9.2-9.5 GHz is less than 0.2 dB, general side lobes level is close to -18 dB.
