Abstract :
In order to have a closed-loop for controlling the transmission power in satellite communications, Eb/N0, needs to be estimated by each individual subscriber unit (ISU). A theoretical algorithm is first analyzed and simulated in this paper. Two practical algorithms are then proposed. Experimental results has shown that both of them can be applied to the base-band processing, but the second one is easier to implement for VLSI
