Abstract :
Using the asymptotical solution of 3D vector problem of diffraction on perfectly conducting infinitely thin square screen the directional characteristics of field orthogonal components along the observation space are calculated. Influence of edge effects on width of the main lobe, gain and radiation resistance of a vibrator has been investigated at varying screen size L. It has been shown that for providing maximum gain the optimum screen size is L=1.2λ.
