Abstract
A method for broadening the frequency range of a UWB omni-directional semicircular disk antenna designed before is presented. By adding several flexible metal poles at both ends of the antenna, the lowest frequency can extend to 0.18 GHz compared with the former value of 0.35 GHz. When the frequency range concerned starts from 0.35 GHz or higher, these poles can be pulled back for a compact configuration. The novel antenna is considerably promising in UWB electromagnetic investigation and other fields.
