Abstract :
Summary form only given. The present paper is, to our knowledge, the first account of hexagon pattern formation under nanosecond laser irradiation in a single laser beam and without any feedback involved. In our experiment, regular structures in beam cross-section changed spontaneously from pulse to pulse from fringes and stripes to multiple hexagons of various scales.
