Abstract
Acoustic nonlinear parameter β is a new characterization parameter of material. Up to now, β is usually determined by measuring second harmonic amplitude using burst technique in progressive wave field. For thin samples, this method is not convenient. The solution of second harmonic, sum frequency and different frequency signals generated by nonlinearity in standing wave field for materials with and without loss are studied and the expression for calculating β is obtained. Finally, the method of measuring β in standing wave field is suggested
