Abstract
Surface acoustic waves travelling along the tip of an elastic wedge, are investigated by laser ultrasonic techniques. The laser-generated antisymmetrical flexural (ASF) modes have been detected by laser interferometer on the duralumin wedges of different apex angles. Important dispersion behavior of the waveforms, not predicted by theoretical models, was observed both in the fundamental and superior ASF modes. Dispersion curves of phase velocity were deduced with a phase analysis method. The influence of the apex truncation on the wave dispersion is studied. A comparison is made between ASF modes and the flexural Lamb wave (A0) propagating along the edge of a plate
