Abstract :
Small sized non-contact type ultrasonic motors are described. It is considered that the driving force of the ultrasonic motor described here may be obtained by the radiation pressure of the sound wave radiated from the stator vibrator. The size of one of the trial ultrasonic motors is 10 mm in diameter and 1 mm in thickness, and the size of another one is 5 mm in diameter and 0.5 mm in thickness. It has been examined that this type of ultrasonic motor can be miniaturized similarly keeping the optimum revolution characteristics
