Abstract :
This paper analyses the land types in Nanji Island by using fractal theory. The complexity, fragmental degree and shape property of the polygons are described by the fractal dimensions and shape parameters quantitatively. The results show that the fractal dimensions of the shrubbery and of the meadow are very large while the fractal dimensions of the bleachery, of the village and of the farmland are small. This indicates that the fractal dimensions are related to human activities
