  • Abstract
The approach to distance-to-object measurement is considered. The microwave signal is used for informative parameters obtaining. The use of a homodyne method of frequency transformation is offered. The microwave signal modulates the source of the optical coherent radiation, which is used as a carrier. The given approach to the problem solving assumes the simplicity of equipment realization and, at the same time, provides high metrological characteristics, it makes a serious competition for the modern devices using other measurement methods. Accuracy of the given method is determined by the wavelength of a microwave signal and stability of its frequency.
