Abstract
This paper describes the modeling of a 3-phase AC-DC-AC converter with two back to back space vector modulated voltage source inverters connected to a DC link. The converter allows four-quadrant operation in the P-Q plane and can be used to connect regenerative loads. A decoupled P-Q controller to regulate the DC link voltage is implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK, and the effect of variations in grid side voltage on converter performance is examined.
