Abstract :
Conventional direct sequence spread spectrum systems use M-sequence as the spreading code. From the viewpoint of avoiding the disturbance caused by colored noise in natural environment, a new receiver system called skipped M-sequence demodulation (SMD) is proposed. It is possible to modify the frequency characteristics of demodulated output to be applied to the decision circuit, if certain chips are skipped and some of them are attenuated in the demodulating process. Consequently, colored noise immunity demodulation can be achieved by selecting proper skipping patterns. Some methods of designing proper skipped sequences are also discussed
