Abstract :
we investigate the transmission of H.264 coded video over wireless channel where automatic repeat request (ARQ) has been adopted as an error control technique. An adaptive rate control method combined with the channel state is presented. This method first utilize a three state markov model to estimate the channel state, and then dynamically adjust the coding parameters using the knowledge of the channel states and buffer fullness to achieve a more effective rate control.
