Abstract :
In the field of remote image processing, data fusion is applied to solve the contradiction between high spatial and high spectral resolution. The usual method merges a panchromatic image and a low resolution multispectral image. In this paper we discuss the defects of normal data fusion algorithms (such as HIS mergers, PCA mergers), develop a technique based on image wavelet decomposition, and give detailed analysis of reconstructed images with different wavelet decomposition scale. The frequency response of image fusion with wavelet decomposition is presented to show the properties of the merge of SPOT and multispectral images
