Abstract :
This paper aims at the severe stripe noise problem in "Hangtian Tsinghua-1" micro-satellite images. In the paper, the character and the cause of the stripe noise are analyzed at first. Then two stripe noise removal algorithms both in space and in frequency domain are proposed and studied. On the basis of the results, a new and more effective progressive stripe noise removal algorithm is proposed at last, which is based on the statistical characteristics of the stripe noise. At the end of the paper, the character and effectiveness of the new algorithms are demonstrated and compared using some real satellite images
