Abstract
This article presents implications of the research and conclusions regarding the understanding of the e-business practices amongst rural small and medium-sized enterprises. It showed the need for better support of rural small and medium-sized businesses in their transition towards modern enterprises competitive in the new era of information economy. The first section of the article summarizes the potential of information and communication technologies, namely web-pages on the internet, for the building of socio-economic networks and for the creation and development of trust. The second section discusses the applicability of the model, recommendation for the successful development of the potential of ICTs for rural SMEs, and suggestions for further studies.
