Abstract
The recent advances in wave propagation theory make it possible to develop both simple engineering methods for estimating sophisticated propagation effects, and sophisticated software for prediction of field levels. The latter are based upon reasonably simple mathematical models complemented with empirical data. The PEAPS system makes use of the ducted propagation theory extended to include scattering effects. The scope of this program system is limited to research and tutorial purposes. It is intended for calculations of the propagation effects in the atmospheric boundary layer over the sea
