Abstract
Slip power recovery systems for wound rotor motors have been updated with the latest generation of PWM motor controls. The concept of operation for the PWM slip power recovery system has been described in an earlier paper . This paper describes experience with two applications and transient load testing that has been done since the introduction of the drive system. The applications are in water pumping and boiler ID fan. Testing was done to confirm the performance of the drive system in applications that require high torque overloads.
