Abstract
A compact dual-band printed monopole antenna is presented in this article. The proposed antenna consists of a rectangular ring monopole and a T-shaped monopole for dual-band operation. The monopole antenna can excite resonances at 2.46 GHz and 5.5 GHz with impedance bandwidths of 16.7% and 24.4% respectively. The proposed antenna has an overall size of 37mm×25mm×1.6mm and can cover all the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands. Moreover, good radiation patterns and stable gains within the operating bands have been obtained. Details of experimental results are presented and discussed in this article.
