  • Abstract
High resolution and speed of filtration can be obtained by the use of mixed formats in digital filters. In these formats the input signal is represented in delta modulation (DM) format whereas weight factors of pulse response are in the pulse code modulation (PCM) format. In this paper we suggest to synthesize codes of differential PCM (DPCM) from a few modernized DPCM (MDPCM) codes. The MDPCM quantization steps (codes) are proportional to natural powers of 2. Such approach allows to replace the multiplication with an operation of shift of bits only. Aim of this work is to increase the resolution and at the same time the fast-acting of filtration in mixed format synthesized DPCM along with PCM format (SDPCM-PCM) and suggest suitable structures of specialized processors.
