Abstract :
A new theory is presented for analysis of SAW diffraction in SAW devices. Particularly, the influence of diffraction on performances of IDT is analyzed. A transadmittance relation for transducer fingers is presented in form of a single singular integral over a round angle taken in Hadamard sense. Experimental and numerical results obtained for uniform IDTs show that the main effects of SAW diffraction on frequency dependent IDT radiation admittance are reduction of its value and smoothing of its shape on the higher frequency side
