Abstract :
This paper proposes a fuzzy-logic-based rate adaption scheme named FRA in order to enhance the smoothness of TCP-friendly multicast congestion control (TFMCC). To alleviate oscillation of sending rate for TFMCC sender, FRA introduces five actions for adjusting rate and uses a fuzzy controller to decide which action should be taken according to the feedback information from CLR (current limiting receiver). Unsymmetrical membership functions and biased fuzzy inference rules make FRA as friendly to TCP flows as TFMCC. Simulation results show that FRA has excellent smoothness and fine TCP-friendliness.
