Abstract
Notice of Retraction
After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.
The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org.
The existing knowledge about strand breakage of OPGW caused by lightning strike still does not clearly define strand breaking caused by lightning arc, calculation of lightning charge energy, criterion for testing and optimizations for engineering design. The results of analysis include: the high temperature of lightning arc working as the main cause of breaking strand; calculation formula of charge-transfer; requirements for modifying the criterion for lightning test that is performed in accordance of available standard; and optimizing measures for engineering design.
