Regarded as a valuable resource of history and culture for traditional sports of the Chinese treasury, the traditional sports for Xinjiang minority nationalities have distinct characters of nation, region, entertainment and folk-custom. There are many kinds of traditional sports with ample contents in Xinjiang. Not only has it the characters of nation, region, entertainment and folk-custom but also combines many functions and values. It goes into an unprecedented age for development in the process of realization, but restricted and blocked by the changes of environment and mode of production and life-style, long ignorance towards traditional sports for minority nationalities and imperfect succession system.
