Abstract
The paper discusses a stochastic approach to multicommodity flow problems, whose idea comes from simulation of alternative call routing in circuit-switched networks. The proposed method can be used to find suboptimal solutions for a vast class of integer-valued multicommodity flow problems. The preliminary results illustrate the effectiveness of the method in application to reconfiguration of mesh SDH transmission networks
